Apple launches “brand new” iPhone 16e: New design, 48MP camera, performance as strong as iPhone 16, impressive battery
Apple has just officially announced the iPhone 16e, a brand new product line in the iPhone 16 product line, instead of continuing with the name iPhone SE as many predicted before. The iPhone 16e has a new design, equipped with many notable upgrades.
Completely new design
No longer using the design inherited from old iPhone models, the iPhone 16e has a modern appearance with a 6.1-inch screen, similar to the iPhone 16. The front of the device is protected by Ceramic Shield glass, which increases durability and scratch resistance. The product is launched with two color options: black and white, both with a matte finish
One of the big differences between the iPhone 16e and other iPhone 16 models is the inclusion of an Action Button instead of the traditional silent switch. However, it does not have Camera Control, a feature that is only available on the higher-end iPhone 16 versions.
In addition, the iPhone 16e contains more than 30% recycled material content overall, including 100% recycled cobalt and 95% recycled lithium in the battery, and 85% recycled aluminum in the case. This is the next product aimed at Apple’s 2030 goal, for a greener and cleaner planet.
Upgraded camera with 48MP sensor
The iPhone 16e only has one rear camera, but it is a 48MP sensor, a number that is superior to any previous iPhone SE model. Thanks to the high resolution, users can use the 12MP crop mode to get a 2x optical zoom effect without losing image quality. On the front, the device comes with a 12MP selfie camera, similar to other iPhone 16 models
Powerful performance with A18 chip and C1 modem
Apple equips the iPhone 16e with the A18 chip, similar to the iPhone 16, giving the device powerful performance and support for new Apple Intelligence features. Notably, this is the first time Apple has used its own C1 modem, instead of using components from Qualcomm as before.
Concerns that Apple might limit the storage capacity of the iPhone 16e to 64GB have not come true. The device is offered with three memory options: 128GB, 256GB and 512GB, providing more flexibility for users. In addition, to best support Apple Intelligence features, the RAM capacity of the iPhone 16e is upgraded to 8GB
Impressive battery life
Apple claims that the iPhone 16e has the best battery life among 6.1-inch iPhone models. Specifically, the device can play video continuously for 26 hours, surpassing the 22 hours of the iPhone 16. This is a significant upgrade, especially in the context of users increasingly paying attention to battery life on mobile devices.
Price and availability
With a starting price of 16.99 million VND in Vietnam, the iPhone 16e is significantly more expensive than the previous iPhone SE 3. However, with improvements in design, performance and camera, this price seems reasonable. However, the sales of the iPhone 16e still depend on the tastes and needs of Vietnamese users, because as we all know, Vietnamese users always prefer large screen devices with the most powerful hardware configuration.
