The 3-acre estate owned by retired hedge fund founder Adam Weiss and actress Barret Swatek boasts panoramic ocean views and was most recently listed for $89.75 million
According to records, the palatial Malibu compound once owned by Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber has been sold at auction after the price was reduced to $89.75 million.
The sellers, retired hedge fund investor Adam Weiss and his wife, actress Barret Swatek, first listed the 3-acre estate for $99.5 million in March. The final sale price could not be determined.
The seller told The Wall Street Journal at the time that the owners had invested significantly in the property after purchasing it from Ms. Crawford and Mr. Gerber for $45 million in 2018, including redecorating, tearing down a stretch of concrete to create a meadow, and renovating the interior.
They decided to sell the property after purchasing a $45 million estate on the Hawaiian island of Maui, with plans to make it their full-time residence. The four-bedroom, 7,450-square-foot Malibu mansion has outdoor decks on both levels to take full advantage of the expansive ocean views, according to listing photos. A private road leads directly down to El Sol Beach, while at the rear of the home, outdoor spaces include a tennis court as well as a pool, spa, pool deck and cabana with a fireplace, according to the listing with Jade Mills of Coldwell Banker Realty. Ms. Mills was not immediately available for comment.
The home is designed for indoor-outdoor living, with an open-plan living room and dining area on the main floor that opens to a wraparound outdoor deck through sliding glass doors, according to the listing.
A master bedroom has a fireplace, double bathroom, walk-in closet and living area. In addition to two other bedrooms, a fourth bedroom has its own private entrance, kitchen and bathroom, according to marketing materials.
Mr. Weiss, 54, co-founded the New York-based hedge fund Scout Capital Management before shutting it down in 2014, and Ms. Swatek, 45, is an actress known for her work on television shows such as “American Housewife” and “Yellowstone.” They did not immediately respond to requests for comment, and the identity of the buyer has not been determined.
