Fairytale-Style California Mansion That Hasn’t Been on the Market in More Than 45 Years
Having lived in the home for decades, actress Priscilla Presley is parting ways with her fairytale-like Beverly Hills, California, mansion after listing it for $15.99 million.
The listing on Monday marks the first time the home has been on the market in more than 45 years, according to the listing by Jonah Wilson of Hilton & Hyland. He did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Situated on more than an acre of land and tucked behind double gates, the Mediterranean-style estate is a “true retreat that offers privacy and seclusion that are rare these days,” according to the listing, and has been “carefully maintained by the current owner.”
Built in 1951 and renovated since then, the home boasts rustic charm from its stately fireplace to its beamed ceilings and wood paneling, according to the Los Angeles Times, which first reported on the home.
The seven-bedroom home has several entertaining spaces, including a formal living room, dining room and library, and nearly every room opens onto the lush garden, according to the listing.
Outside, a guest suite sits above the garage, and the garden includes a pool and tennis court.
Property records, which identify Ms. Presley as the owner, do not provide enough detail about exactly when she bought the home or how much she paid for it.
Last spring, Ms. Presley, who was married to the “King of Rock ‘n’ Roll” Elvis Presley from 1967 until their divorce in 1973, parted ways with another property she had long owned near Brentwood, selling it after just three weeks on the market for more than its asking price.
Ms. Presley, 75, is a former actress best known for her roles in the “The Naked Gun” films and the long-running television series “Dallas.”
