ACTOR SYLVESTER STALLONE SELLS LA QUINTA, CALIFORNIA MANSION AT A LOSS

The home is for sale for $3.35 million, $1 million less than what the actor paid for it
“Rocky” star Sylvester Stallone is selling his La Quinta, California, home for $3.35 million, about $1.15 million less than what he paid for it a decade ago.

The Mediterranean-Tuscan-style mansion has 4,889 square feet of interior space, including four bedrooms and five bathrooms, according to the listing by Josh Reef of Douglas Elliman, who listed the property on Wednesday.

The two-story home, built in 2008, also features a spacious living room with double-height ceilings and a stone fireplace, a dining room that opens to a terrace, a kitchen with wood cabinets, a wood-and-stone center island, a breakfast room and a wine room, according to the listing.
Property records show that Mr. Stallone, 73, an actor, screenwriter, director and artist, bought the property in 2010 for $4.5 million through a trust. He first listed it for $4.2 million in 2014. Since then, the home has been on and off the market at various price points as brokers have changed hands. It was taken off the market in 2016, when it was last listed for $3.625 million, listing records show.
The listing broker, Mr. Reef, said Mr. Stallone and his family used the home for desert vacations and that it was well-maintained.
A representative for Mr. Stallone, best known for creating and starring in the “Rocky” series, confirmed that he was the seller but had no further comment.
Design details include double wood doors, arched entryways, vaulted and beamed ceilings, and fireplaces throughout.

Outdoors, the 0.45-acre property features multiple patios, a pool, a spa, and a built-in fire pit.

“It’s on the largest lot of all the villas in La Quinta,” Reef said. “And it has a creek running through the backyard, which is very special.”
